SmartHome

SmartHome

SmartHome is fixed broadband and voice combined together as a single solution. What this means is that this is a service you install at your home inorder to get fast, reliable broadband and voice with lowest tariff rates plus other addition smart features and benefits. WiMax is the technology we use to deliver this product from the tower to your home. It offers direct Ethernet for Internet where connection and no additional modem required.

Activation

To begin using SmartHome simply visit a Dialog Arcade or service center. Once you sign up a team will visit your home to setup the connection. They need to install an antenna outside to pick up the signal from the tower. Then you’ll get an ethernet connection (through an included modem) which you can connect directly to a computer or to a router and IAD (Integrated Access Device) to connect the voice line. The first time you setup a router you may need to enter a username and password (provided).

Voice

1 or 2 fixed voice lines can be added depending on your requirement, which add a load of features and benefit to you. Such as :

  • High Quality voice
  • CLI phone units
  • Free intra box calls.
  • Free IDD enable voice lines.
  • Self configurable web portal.
  • Three party conference/ Forwarding/Speed dialing/Hunting
  • Lowest tariff Rates

Use

This is an always on connection, so you simply have to turn your computer on and ensure that it’s connected to the modem, either by cable or WiFi. Then simply browse away.

Package Voice Lines Download Speed (up to) Uploads (up to) IP Address Mailboxes Web Space
SmartHome 1 512 Kbps 128 Kbps Dynamic 3 10MB

SmartHome+ 1 1 Mbps 256 Kbps Dynamic 4 10MB
2 1 Mbps 256 Kbps Dynamic 4 10MB

What do these features mean? Download speed is the most important, it’s how fast you can view webpages and download files. 512 Kbps is fine for most browsing, watching streaming video, etc. More speed means you can download more things at once and view video and webpages faster.

Upload speed is how fast you can send stuff to other people and websites. For example, sending an attachment to friends or uploading a video to YouTube.

Mailboxes enable you to send and receive email from a Dialog Broadband account while Web Space means you can host your own webpage.

IP address isn’t relevant for most people, but a static IP does enable you to host your own web or email server and get remote access to your PC from somewhere else.

You can also configure a variety of VAS, including:
