How to activate the SIM?

Step 1

Log on to www.dialog.lk/sim and enter your e-mail address and mobile phone number

Enter the last 8 digits of the SIM number

Step 3

Enter your NIC number and take a photo of your NIC/Passport/Driving License using the in-built camera feature (make sure the ID number is clearly captured)

Take a selfie using the in-built camera

Select your preferred number

Step 6

Agree to the Terms and Conditions, sign on the placeholder of the application and click ‘Submit’.

The confirmation screen will provide details of the next steps

Step 8

Insert the new SIM in to your device. Upon successful verification of ownership documents, your connection will be activated and network connectivity will be updated on the device. You will also receive a confirmation SMS to your new number. Once the connection is active, reload your connection to start using your new number

How to find the SIM number

The SIM number is the 16-digit number under the barcode

Enter the last 8 digits of the SIM number displayed under the barcode (refer the image below)

Address confirmation document

If your address is different / unavailable on your ID document, you will be required to upload any of the below listed documents which have your current billing address details.

Examples of instances requiring an address confirmation document

  • Passport is given as the identity document
  • Driving License does not have an address
  • Address not clear on NIC/Driving License
  • If present/correspondence address is different from the ID document

Note

  • The name on the address confirmation document should match the name on the NIC/Driving License/Passport
  • Refer the acceptable validity period for the address confirmation document below

Document list

  • Currently active Dialog Postpaid bill for Mobile, Home Broadband, CDMA or Dialog Television
  • Utility bill payments (one bill within last 6 months)
  • Bank statements from the last 2 months (e-statements will not be accepted)
  • Documents received from banks (reminders/card related/loan-related/pawning-related) - issued by the bank within the last 2 months
  • Credit card statements (validity: last 2 months)
  • Letter from a government institution on the letterhead
  • GS certificate
  • Tax payee invoice received by post with address (validity: last 6 months)
  • Other service provider bills - fixed lines only within the last 6 months
  • Election cards issued within the last 6 months
  • Religious leaders’ identity card address
  • Government service ID address (doctors/lawyers/forces/teachers) - must be a valid ID
  • Registered lease agreements (land/ property or vehicle)
  • Government service ID
  • Letters received from Courts during the last 3 months
  • Government Pensioner’s ID/Government Elder’s ID

The Product

The 1 FOR 1 Prepaid connection will be activated for the customer

The 1 FOR 1 Plan

  • Per second charging call plan
  • Flat rate to any network (outgoing)
  • Incoming free
  • 1MB data free for every 1 minute of the call
    • 1MB free data is given for each 60 second of Local Voice calls (completed minutes only)
    • Free data cannot be used for roaming
    • Maximum of 10GB free data (1FOR1) can be accumulated at any time

Usage Charges

Call rate Rs. 2.00 (3.33 cents per second billing)
Local SMS Rs. 0.20
GPRS Rate Rs. 1.00 per MB
(Reduce data charges by activating a Data Pack)

Change Plan

  • To change from per second charging to per minute, dial #678# and select <Tariff Plan Change>
    • Rs. 3.00 + tax will be charged for plan changes. *First plan change is free
  • To convert your connection to a mobile postpaid plan, dial #678# and select <Pre to post conversion>
