Shraddha Media Network in partnership with the Maha Karuna Buddhist Society – Malaysia, Theravada Buddhist Council – Malaysia, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Disaster Management and Dialog Axiata PLC commenced the construction of a new building for landslide-affected Kalubovitiyana Maha Vidyalaya in the district of Matara last year. The initiative was in support of helping those affected by floods and landslides in 2017 May.

Dialog Axiata PLC announced, Friday 11th May 2018, its consolidated financial results for the three months ended 31st March 2018. Financial results included those of Dialog Axiata PLC (the “Company”) and of the Dialog Axiata Group (the “Group”).

Dialog Group continued its growth momentum across all key business segments including Mobile, Tele- infrastructure, Digital Pay Television and Fixed Line to record a consolidated revenue of Rs. 26.1Bn for Q1 2018, demonstrating a growth of 5% Quarter-on-Quarter (“QoQ”) and 18% Year-on-Year (“YoY”). Underpinned by strong revenue growth coupled with disciplined cost management and operational efficiencies, Group Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) grew 9% QoQ and 38% YoY to record at Rs. 9.9Bn for Q1 2018.

Dialog introduces the ‘Huawei Watch 2’ smart watch as the first eSIM enabled device in Sri Lanka.

DOC990 operated by Digital Health (Pvt) Ltd, a joint venture between Digital Holdings Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Dialog Axiata PLC, together with Asiri Hospital Holdings PLC, announced the expansion of the joint venture partnership in Digital Health (Pvt) Ltd., with equity investments from Nawaloka Hospitals PLC and Ceylon Hospitals PLC (Durdans).

This collaboration between Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider and the three leading private hospital groups, aims to transform the digital healthcare eco system by leveraging on Dialog’s technology and digital platforms with healthcare expertise of its joint venture partners. This unique venture launched in 2016 has connected more than 1500 doctors in over 80 Hospitals through its digital health platform which is accessible via doc.lk or dialling 990 or via the Doc990 app.

Subsequent to the fresh infusion of equity by Nawaloka and Durdans, the shareholding structure of Digital Health (Pvt) Ltd will comprise of Digital Holdings Lanka owning 53.2 percent while Asiri, Nawaloka and Durdans Hospitals will hold 22.8, 15 and 9 percent respectively.
