All 3 plans will be available for Prepaid customers. Monthly rental plan is only available for Postpaid customers.

When watching videos on the 4G network, customers have a worry on their data consumption due to high speed in 4G. Hence Dialog introduced the concept of “Worry Free Video” i.e. Unlimited Video at SD quality for all Sri Lankans to watch YouTube at an affordable price. The 4G Facebook & WhatsApp Plan is an effort to extend the “Worry Free Experience” to Facebook and WhatsApp which are the most popular applications for video after YouTube.

Mobile Prepaid -> Customers can activate these packages as one-time sachet.
Mobile Postpaid -> Customers will be given an opportunity to activate Rs.107 plan as Monthly Recurrent rental plan.

We will soon make the 6 month plans available for Postpaid customers as one-time sachets.

The unlimited benefit is there only for Facebook & WhatsApp applications only. You will get charged through your data balance for the usage on Facebook Messenger.

The unlimited data will only be available for the Facebook & WhatsApp applications. However, you can use our standard Internet Cards to access other social media/ Instant messaging applications.

You can stream HD videos on Facebook without any additional data charges but the video would buffer.

Hence would recommend the customer to use SD quality (360p quality) for a “Buffer Free Experience” which is the recommended quality on a smartphone.

This plan is available for Dialog Mobile 4G customers only, i.e. customers using a 4G enabled mobile phone, tab or dongle and also uses a 4G SIM It is always recommended to check the 4G compatibility of the Device and SIM before activating this plan. Customers can Type 4G READY & SMS to 678 to check the 4G compatibility of the Device and SIM.

Note: Dialog uses International Mobile Equipment Identity Database (GSMA IMEI Db) which is a global central database containing basic information on the serial numbers (IMEI), and ranges of millions of mobile devices (e.g. mobile phones, laptop data cards, etc.) used across the globe. There could be instances where a device is 4G compatible but it is not recognized as 4G by Dialog. This is when a device manufacturer has not updated the 4G network band to GSMA IMEI Database.

Once activated, you may use this package in both 3G & 4G networks without any additional data charges for Facebook & WhatsApp

Facebook & WhatsApp can be used unlimited and the usage will not be consumed from any other data quota of the customer

Yes.
These are Add-on plans, thus any customer with a primary / base voice or data plan activated on their mobile can activate this package. Data Only customers cannot activate this plan as their Base Plan, however this plan can be activated as an add-on to the primary / base package

Unlimited Social Media Plan– data usage checks are not required as usage is unlimited within the validity period, however prepaid and postpaid customers will be allowed to check the plan activated status and its validity via My Dialog App.

Yes.
Unlimited Social Media Plan can be activated along with any other Facebook related Data package. However, if a postpaid Facebook Monthly Rental package (I_GPRS_FB_50) customer wants to activate the Unlimited Social Media Plan, the Facebook Package will be automatically removed, and Unlimited Social Media Plan will be activated.

Prorated rental will be charged based on the number of days remaining in the billing cycle

If a Prepaid or a Postpaid customer activates the Unlimited Social Media without having a 4G handset and a 4G SIM, he will not be eligible for the Unlimited Social Media and Dialog will reload the amount as reload.

Your validity period will expire based on the plan with the highest validity (E.g.: In the event a 30 day plan is activated on 1st June and a 7 day plan is activated on the 28th June, the customer will be able to experience Unlimited Facebook & WhatsApp until 4th July)

You can dial #678# and select Mobile Data Plans > Unlimited Facebook / WhatsApp Plans > Unrestricted Facebook / WhatsApp Quality (Charged Mode) > Activate Unrestricted Facebook / WhatsApp Quality (Charged Mode)

This feature is offered free of charge.

Once activated, this will be active until the customer deactivates it using the USSD menu. For Prepaid customers, if the feature is not deactivated it will be valid till the package validity period expires.

To deactivate the above feature (return to the Unlimited Facebook / WhatsApp Plan at SD quality), the customer should follow the below steps;
Dial #678# and select Mobile Data Plans > Unlimited Facebook / WhatsApp Plans > Unrestricted Facebook / WhatsApp Quality (Charged Mode) > Deactivate Unrestricted Facebook / WhatsApp Quality (Charged Mode)

Customer can contact the hotline and check the activation status, the self-help for the customer to check the activation status is not available yet.
