Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s #1 connectivity provider, announced that the company has been invited to participate in the 2025 United Nations Global Compact’s Private Sector Forum, taking place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 22 September 2025. Supun Weerasinghe, Group Chief Executive of Dialog Axiata PLC, will join a select group of global CEOs at this exclusive dialogue of decision-makers — a recognition that highlights Dialog’s continued commitment to aligning local innovation with global sustainability goals.

The high-level roundtable will convene Heads of State and Government, UN leaders and approximately 50 Chief Executive Officers from around the world to deliberate on scaling up private capital for sustainable and inclusive development. Central to the discussions is the UN’s Sustainable Finance Roadmap, which sets out practical strategies to mobilize investment for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in Low- and Middle-Income Countries, while accelerating key transitions in climate adaptation, food systems and decent work.

Dialog’s invitation to this prestigious forum reflects the company’s strong track record in sustainability and its progress across four strategic pillars. Under its climate action and green economy agenda, Dialog has advanced renewable energy adoption, reduced emissions and embedded circular practices across operations. In driving digital inclusion, the company has expanded access to essential services through initiatives such as Nenasa in education, Sayuru in fisheries safety and Govi Mithuru in agriculture. Dialog has also strengthened equity in communities through programmes such as Yeheli and the Dialog–MAS Enabler initiative, while fostering diversity and inclusion at every level. These efforts are underpinned by a culture of corporate governance and transparency, recognised through multiple local and international accolades, including awards for sustainability reporting, governance transparency, and Dialog’s ongoing commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This is further highlighted by Dialog's invitation to the United Nations Global Compact's Think Lab on Business Integrity, where it was the only company from Sri Lanka selected out of 25 global organisations.

Through its continued alignment with national priorities and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Dialog remains committed to contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable future. Supun Weerasinghe’s participation at the UN Global Compact’s Private Sector Forum will provide a valuable platform to represent Sri Lanka’s private sector and to learn from and collaborate with global leaders on shared challenges and solutions.
