Dialog Celebrates Vesak with Data Dansala Powered by its QR Reload Platform

Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka's #1 connectivity provider, celebrated Vesak by bringing together tradition and technology through a unique Data Dansala powered by its pioneering QR reload platform. Held on the 12th and 13th of May, this initiative provided over 21,000 Vesak attendees with 1GB of free mobile data each, by simply scanning a QR code at selected locations across Colombo.

This seasonal extension of Dialog’s QR reload service—Sri Lanka’s first reload system via QR code—was designed to reflect the spirit of sharing that defines Vesak. By offering a simple, digital gesture during a cultural celebration, Dialog created a thoughtful way for people to stay connected while engaging in the festivities.

The experience was made available at seven locations including the Dialog Head Office, Bauddhaloka Vesak Zone, Alfred House Dialog Customer Service Centre, Nugegoda Dialog Customer Service Centre, Pelawatta Dialog Customer Service Centre, Mt Lavinia Dialog Customer Service Centre, and the Colombo Municipal Council. Through this effort, Dialog continues to explore meaningful ways to blend innovation with community, making technology more accessible and relevant during moments that matter.
