About eSIM Technology

eSIM stands for “embedded SIM”, a programmable chip built in to the device itself. The chip can be programmed with a profile over the internet and eliminates the need to insert a SIM card in to the Phone/device to be connected to a mobile network.

The eSIM will have the ability to keep more than one profile downloaded on it depending on its memory capacity. However, only one profile can be active at a time.

The Dialog network is compatible with any eSIM device that complies with “Remote SIM Provisioning Phase 2 Standard” issued by GSMA. This is the most recent standard that has been issued by GSMA and any device that complies with older standards or deviates from the standard will not be compatible to obtain an eSIM profile from Dialog.

Steps to configure an eSIM device

  1. Step 1
    Subscribe to a tariff plan of your choice
  2. Step 2
    Receive your QR code via email
  3. Step 3
    Run the mobile connectivity management app (Wear OS app) of your device
  4. Step 4
    Open the app and scan the QR code using the app to download the profile
  • What tariff plans are available with eSIM?

    Any currently issuing Prepaid or Postpaid packages can be purchased(activated) with an eSIM.

  • Where can I experience the eSIM technology?

    You can experience the eSIM technology at the Demo Centre arranged at the Dialog Iconic Centre (Head Office) and would demonstrate how to download and install a connection from 28th April to 15th of May 2018.

  • Where can I get the eSIM connection?

    You should visit Dialog Iconic Store.

  • What should I do if the download of my eSIM profile failed?

    You can attempt to download again by scanning the QR code in the email received. If problem persists please contact our help desk.

  • Can my existing sim card be converted to an eSIM when I purchase the Huawei Watch 2?

    This capability is still not implemented. You must have to purchase a new connection.

  • If I accidentally reset my eSIM profile. How do I restore my eSIM profile?

    You will receive the below error.

    You can always download your eSIM profile again by scanning the QR code on email. We advise that you keep the email for future use. If you are unable to find the email, you will have to contact our hotline to get the QR code emailed to you again.

  • What should I do if I sell or pass on my Huawei Watch 2?

    You should terminate or transfer your subscription from your device. Even if you delete the profile, it can be reactivated by scanning the same QR code, unless it has been terminated.

  • My Huawei Watch 2 was stolen/lost. What should I do?

    You need to deactivate the connection temporally by calling our hotline till you find it or till you transfer it to another device.

  • Can I change my eSIM to be used on the standard SIM card if I switch to a non-eSIM device?

    No. This capability is still not implemented.

  • If I have another eSIM wearable device (other than Huawei Watch 2), can I get an eSIM from Dialog?

    At the moment, only Huawei Watch 2 is compatible with Dialog eSIM. But eSIM can be issued for any eSIM device that complies with “Remote SIM Provisioning Phase 2 standard” issued by GSMA.
