Held from 1st to 9th September, the Esala Perahera at the revered Gatabaru Rajamaha Temple is a significant spiritual and cultural event in the southern region, drawing thousands of devotees and visitors. This annual procession, renowned for its pageantry, traditional performances, and deep religious significance, has long been a symbol of the island’s vibrant cultural identity.
