Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s #1 connectivity provider, reaffirms its steadfast commitment to cultural preservation and national heritage by sponsoring the revered Sri Dalada Perahera for the 19th consecutive year, celebrating a legacy of unity, tradition and devotion through this profound religious and cultural expression.

Held from 30th July to 9th August 2025, the Sri Dalada Perahera—also known as the Kandy Esala Perahera—honours the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha and pays homage to four guardian deities: Natha, Vishnu, Kataragama, and Pattini. As one of the oldest and most sacred Buddhist festivals in the world, the procession draws thousands from across the country, invoking blessings for rain, bountiful harvests, and national prosperity. Dialog’s enduring patronage not only supports the event’s spiritual significance but also facilitates nationwide cultural engagement, including live telecasts on Dialog Television via A+ Kids (Channel 48), allowing families island-wide to experience the grandeur from their homes.

Dialog has also been a long-term patron of many significant events, including the Gangaramaya Navam Maha Perahara, Baudhaloka Vesak Kalapaya, Kelani Duruthu Maha Perahara, Kataragama Esala Perahera and Gatabaru Esala Perahara. These efforts align with the company’s initiatives to preserve Sri Lanka’s heritage, including constructing the vestibule for the Dimbulagala Aranya Senasanaya, launching a website and directory of Amarapura Maha Nikaya Temples, and restoring the Anuradhapura Maha Vihara Sannipatha Shalawa.

By championing initiatives that blend tradition with technology, Dialog continues to play a pivotal role in preserving Sri Lanka’s cultural tapestry. The company’s long-standing association with the Perahera underscores its holistic approach to social responsibility—uniting innovation, inclusivity and heritage as it enriches the lives of Sri Lankans through meaningful community investments.
